PL 2013W Ancient Greek Philosophy3 Credits This introduction to ancient philosophy in the Western tradition covers the pre-Socratic philosophers Plato and Aristotle. The course unites them in a dialogue, highlighting their similarities and differences to show their importance in the history of philosophy and their relevance to society today. The course emphasizes the history and methods of early Greek science and examines Greek attitudes toward technology and their implications for science and society.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of first year writing requirements Note: Satisfies a humanities and social sciences elective.
