CE-UY 4253 Hydraulic Systems3 Credits The application of basic principles of fluid mechanics and water resources in hydraulic engineering and design. Topics covered include: laminar and turbulent flow; boundary layer characteristics; subcritical and super critical flow; applications to pipe and open channel flow; pipe networks; hydraulic machinery and structures; river and canal systems and flood plains; safety; and reliability issues.
